Skagit Valley's elegant garden center & retail nursery tucked in a flower farm
WHAT'S UNIQUE ABOUT AZUSA?
We bring over 25 years of hands-on experience in horticulture and landscaping. We have a unique combination of strengths in knowledge and certifications (CPH, ecoPRO, APLD), materials (NNBA member and store inventory on hand), our design studio approach, a highly skilled crew, and the most heart & soul you'll find in any gardener in the Pacific Northwest!
HOW MUCH DOES A CONSULTATION COST?
Each project is highly customized and tailored to your needs. Some of our customers are avid gardeners and only need a few questions answered. Others are looking for a comprehensive end-to-end package, from design to maintenance. We're happy to work with you based on your specific needs!
CAN YOU DO DROP-IN CONSULTATIONS?
No, our landscapers are often out on site visits so while we'd like to accommodate drop-ins, we suggest you email us for a time.
HOW LONG DOES AN AVERAGE PROJECT TAKE?
A project timeframe can be discussed at the time of the consultation depending on your needs.
WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY SUSTAINABLE, FUNCTIONAL DESIGN?
Azusa is committed to landscape design that works with the natural patterns and behavior of the land and ecosystem. We always consider factors such as where the sun hits, how water naturally flows, and the micro-climate of the area when making design decisions. These choices are meant to have a minimal impact on the earth, require less watering and maintenance, and maximize how different species of plants thrive side by side.
CAN YOU PROVIDE ONGOING MAINTENANCE AFTER A BUILD?
Yes, ongoing maintenance is available. Just ask us during your consultation.
WHAT DOES AZUSA MEAN, ANYWAY?
The Azusa tree is a species of the Catalpa family, and has an intimate connection with the traditional Japanese martial art of archery. The wood of the tree is used to make bows and arrows, and was believed to ward off evil spirits during the standing meditation. The mastery of this form of archery is known to require the complete wellness of the heart-mind-body continuum, which sits at the core of the mission at Azusa Farm & Gardens: to create landscapes in harmony with the earth and with the eye, mind, and soul!
